 Every year the East Fremantle Football Club recognises a true legend of the club by having their picture printed on our match footballs along with their career statistics. David Hollins is East Fremantle’s Match Day Football Legend for 2008.
David was presented with his Match Day Football at the President’s luncheon during the match against East Perth on Saturday 26th April and was very humbled by the honour.

In 1971 David Hollins joined the list of East Fremantle Sandover Medallists. David polled 26 votes to win by 10 votes from Mel Whinnen of West Perth. In that year David also won the Lynn Medal, the Weekend News Footballer of the Year, the Tattersall’s Gold Cup and shared Radio Station 6PM’s Footballer of the Year.
David, who was in his second year at the club when winning the Sandover Medal, was a brilliant centre-man from Bunbury, who was known for his long penetrating drop kicks into the forward line.
David’s image, from his playing days, is also incorporated into our team posters. East Fremantle, the only WAFL club to do this, believes that this is another way to recognise our past legends of the club.
