George Prince was an ideal football build. In his day he was the fastest big man or near big man in the game. George had the knack of being able to take the ball out of the hands of the opposing rucks at the bounce due to his pace off the mark.

His ground play was as good as his aerial work, and his turning ability equalled that of wing or centre men. He was a fine drop kick over all distances and when kicking for goal used a towering torpedo punt.

George was regarded as the Club’s most versatile player and a champion performer in key positions, at home in the ruck, at centre half forward and, later in his career in the goals..

George missed three seasons due to the underage competition over the War years but still amassed 226 games for the club.

A superb team man, with enormous competitive ability, he used his strong marking, straight kicking and sheer courage to maximum effect.

George was a tireless worker in the interests of the Club and in later life maintained his involvement through the Mandurah Sharks.
